Wonderful Update From the Advocacy at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

I will share with you the good news note from the LLS I received today: "Wow, Natalie, I knew that there were a lot of people who cared about helping patients with blood cancer live longer, better lives – but I never imagined I would hear from so many of them at once. Last week, thousands upon thousands of supporters across the country came together to show their support for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission Day. With your help, we: Met with more than 230 legislators, including members of Congress who could co-sponsor upcoming cancer-fighting legislation; Blew past our initial goal of 5,000 names and collected more than 6,800 signatures on our Mission Day petition that asked elected officials to get serious about helping cancer patients and their families; and Connected with hundreds of thousands of supporters on social media thanks to Facebook shares and comments, tweets and retweets on Twitter, and support from all channels. Your combined efforts made Mission Day a huge success that will have a real legislative impact – but we’re not stopping there. Our work continues year-round in the halls of Congress, in state capitols across the country, and in communities like yours. If you aren’t a fan already, please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to get all the latest breaking news about how you can make a real difference in improving the lives of people with blood cancer. Natalie, I can’t thank you enough for supporting our Mission Day efforts and for being part of the LLS community, each and every day. Together, we can give cancer patients and their families the brighter future they deserve. All the best, Scott Riccio Office of Public Policy Leukemia & Lymphoma Society"
