Discovery At The Hormel Institute

Researchers at the Hormel Institute have discovered a missing link in the major cell pathway involved in chronic inflammation. Dr. Rick Brown discovered a new molecule that was involved in moving lipids, "what we know at this point is if the level of this protein is too low, that is what seems to trigger the inflammation response," Dr. Brown explained. “A variety of different basic inflammation responses that can be very simple, they can also be associated with diseases like cancer," added Dr. Edward Hinchcliffe. The Hormel Institute research is about to be published in the internationally-known scientific journal "Nature".
