NPF CANCER ISSUES UPDATE 2014

Dr. Robert Diasio, director of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, was the leadoff speaker at the 2014 National Press Foundation Cancer Meeting. The NPF reports Dr. Diasio described a new pathway in cancer research dubbed the “N-of-One.” According to Dr. Diasio “Each patient’s genome is a little different than the other patients,” Diasio said. “As we learn more and more from genomics, the profile of the individual patient becomes more and more important.
